Two arrested after search of Stage Coach Road home

Two suspects were arrested on Wednesday by members of the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotics & Gang Task Force following the search of a residence on Stage Coach Road in Nathalie that turned up evidence of marijuana and narcotic drugs.

Whitney Allen Barker, 32 of Stage Coach Road, Nathalie was arrested by Task Force officers and charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Stephanie Brook Smith, 34 of John Henry Brown Trail, Clover was arrested for possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony. Both subjects were taken to Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority in Halifax and held without bail. More charges are pending against both subjects.

The arrests came after Task Force members, armed with search warrants, seized suspected heroin, suspected marijuana, suspected marijuana plants, suspected marijuana grow materials, suspected schedule II controlled substances, suspected schedule V controlled substances, suspected drug paraphernalia, electronics and firearms as a result of the search. Members from the Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police and South Boston Police Department assisted with the arrest and search.

The Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotic & Gang Task Force consists of members of the Virginia State Police, South Boston Police Department and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
