Two held for assault in stabbing incident / May 21, 2018

Two Nathalie suspects are being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Halifax after they were charged with felonious assault in a Wednesday stabbing incident.

Jeremy Elliott, 35, of Nathalie, was charged with felonious assault while applying pressure and assault/battery of a family member. Barbara Ramsey, 35, of Nathalie, was arrested on charges of felonious assault with intent to maim. Both are being held in jail under no bond.

Sheriff Fred S. Clark stated that at approximately 6:00 p.m. on May 16, authorities with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police responded to a residence on Stage Coach Road to investigate a report of a stabbing. Upon arriving, Deputy T.W. Bush observed a male who had visible cuts on the back of his right leg with the cuts being consistent from a small pocket knife located at the crime scene.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the male victim and a female had been arguing which resulted in an altercation between the two of them. It was apparent that the male and female had assaulted one another during the altercation. Both parties were placed under arrest and taken into custody.
