News Father and son found dead in yard in Halifax CountySoVaNow.com / February 23, 2021
A father and son were found dead Sunday afternoon in the yard of a Bethel Road home in Halifax County, but authorities say there is no indication foul play was involved. The Halifax County Sheriff's Office reported the deaths of the two men but did not speculate on the possible cause of death. The bodies of the unidentified subjects have been sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke for autopsies. Sheriff Fred Clark said the Sheriff's Office is waiting for the full report from the medical examiner. Conditions were very cold Sunday, but it is not immediately known if exposure may have played a role in the men's deaths. The call came in around 2:50 p.m. after a family friend found the father and his son deceased in their yard. "It appeared they [had] been outside for a couple of days," Clark said via text message. The identities of the two men are being withheld pending notification of all family members. This story will be updated. Tell-a-Friend | Submit a Comment 36News & Record
