Two sought in C-store robbery / October 18, 2017

South Hill Police are on the lookout for two men who robbed the Kangaroo convenience store located at 702 E. Atlantic Street in South Hill on Saturday.

South Hill Police Chief Stuart Bowen posted a video of the robbery on the department’s Facebook page, on Tuesday and within hours it was viewed by nearly 1,000 people.

Bowen said at approximately 1:15 a.m. Saturday, officers with the South Hill Police Department were dispatched to the Kangaroo convenience store in reference to a reported armed robbery.

Officers spoke with the store clerk on duty at the time, who advised them that two light-skinned, black males wearing black long sleeve shirts, white jogging shorts, black masks, and white socks over their hands entered the store, brandishing a knife and threatening to harm her.

She said one suspect had dreadlocks.

The suspects forced the clerk to open her cash drawer and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and Newport cigarettes. They left on foot.

Officers canvased the area trying to find the suspects, but so far they have not been found.

Bowen said the investigation of the incident is ongoing. If anyone has any information regarding this crime, the South Hill Police Department encourages you to contact Det.
