Witt, Pannell to lead Halifax County supervisors

SoVaNow.com / January 11, 2018
The Halifax County Board of Supervisors on Monday night elected ED-4 supervisor Dennis Witt to serve another term as chairman. ED-3 supervisor Hubert Pannell will serve as the board’s vice chairman, succeeding J.T. Davis.

County administrator Jim Halasz was confirmed as clerk of the board with Debbie Forlines named as deputy clerk.

The actions were approved unanimously at the beginning of Monday’s organizational meeting as supervisors convened for the first time in 2018.

Upon resuming his duties as board chair, Witt named J. T. Davis, Garland Ricketts and Jeff Francisco to serve on the Finance panel.

Pannell and Francisco will serve on the Policy and Personnel Committee, while Joey Rogers will lead the Building and Grounds Committee along with Stanley Brandon.

Brandon will chair the Recreation Committee and Rogers will head the Airport Committee. Francisco and Hubert Pannell will lead the Fire Commission.
