Woman charged with smuggling jail contraband / April 10, 2014

On Thursday, the Halifax Regional Narcotic and Gang Task Force arrested a subject for allegedly attempting to transport contraband into the jail.

The subject, 26 year old Tanya Marie Pryor of 1978 Esnon Road, Chase City, was charged on Thursday, April 3 with attempting to transport contraband to a jail inmate after she attempted to conceal the illegal substances on her person while visiting the inmate who was incarcerated at the facility.

The Task Force is comprised of members from the Halifax Sheriff’s Office, the South Boston Police Department and the Virginia State Police.
