Women’s self-defense class June 23

SoVaNow.com / June 18, 2012
Summer is almost here and as more of us take to the outdoors, we need to be cognizant of our surrounding to ensure no one is lurking to do us any harm.

Whether you are out for a casual walk, jogging, running or just walking from the shopping center to your car, you need to be aware of everything around you.

These techniques along with many other self-defense techniques will be taught during a women’s self-defense class Saturday, June 23 at Historic Green Folly at 10 a.m.

The two-hour class will preview a large variety of everyday items that most women carry which can be used to protect you during an attack.

You will also learn how to use verbal judo to help defuse the attacker, physical defense, edge weapon defense and also firearm weapon defense.

You can also participate in physical demonstrations if you choose.

For additional information, contact Norma Chaney at 572-3131 before Tuesday, June 19.
