Supes race through light meeting agenda

Halifax County supervisors completed their monthly meeting Monday evening in record time, spending some 30 minutes in open session. The supervisors had no public hearings on their agenda since the only application they had received for a conditional use permit — for W.A. Stevens to operate an internet gaming cafe in ED4 — was canceled prior to the meeting.

Fairgrounds, Halloween lead supes’ agenda

Halifax County Supervisors will meet this evening at the second floor meeting room of the Mary Bethune Complex at 6:30 p.m. They have no public hearings on their agenda after W.A. Stevens withdrew his request for a conditional use permit which would have allowed him to operate an internet gaming cafe in the county.

Spring water company expands

Grand Springs Natural Spring Water is expanding. The business is now offering a distributing program for their coffee service products and water products in the five gallon bottles and the small pack bottles to local business and to retail outlets in the Halifax county area.

Waste water treatment facility put into service

A co-generation facility at the Halifax County Industrial Park which has been idle for the past several years is being upgraded for use as an industrial waste water treatment facility by Spirit Services, Inc.
