IDA sets energy center rates

The Halifax County Industrial Development Authority on Friday approved a rent schedule for the Energy Center located inside Riverstone Building One. Rents for the ten offices available will range in price from $630 to $675 per month.

Halifax County Treasurer Linda S. Foster announced Friday that she is running for re-election as treasurer. “It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of our towns and county over the past 25 years as treasurer,” she said.

New signs on the bins in South Boston tell recyclers they don’t need to sort their recyclables any more — it’s OK to mix them. Commingled recycling is already under way in South Boston, Volens and Four Forks, and it’s coming soon to the rest of the county. Just two requests from county officials: Don’t tie up recyclables in plastic bags; that messes up the process. And, of course, keep garbage separate.
