Healthy Harvest Community Garden awarded $48,000 grant

Representatives from the Healthy Harvest Community Garden received a grant award from the Virginia Department of Health, State Office of Rural Health on June 21. The garden project evolved from Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital’s most recent community health needs assessment and the county’s designation as a low access food area. The garden will help provide healthy food and working through local food pantries will provide better access.
