Nearly 100 friends and family of Jordan Ross gathered at the TJM Community Center in Cluster Springs on Wednesday for a support gathering organized by Jordan’s mother, Ulisa Ross. Her son, a HCHS senior, died in a car crash in September on Berry Hill Road in South Boston. At the event, driving instructor Melanie Saunders talked with Ross’s classmates to encourage them to care for one another by discouraging bad driving — calling out friends for speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, or driving under the influence of alcohol whenever they see it. Below, kids enjoyed food, games, and fellowship in the company of counselors, pastors, and others to reach out to in coping with the loss of their friend. (Liza Fulton photos)
