Local artists celebrate ‘Big Red Barn’ in back of South Boston library

South Boston News
Daksha Modi and Sue Brooks of the Halifax County Library system cut the ribbon Saturday to mark the formal opening of the library’s community garden and mural located on the back wall of the South Boston Library. They were joined by others who helped paint the mural, inspired by the children’s book, “The Big Red Barn.” The crew of artists included Cheleste Carrington, Rebecca Mulwee, Darshan Modi and Amy Tutor. Not present for the event, but who did a lot of the work on the mural was Willgie Chen. Brooks invited the public to enjoy the community garden, noting that members of Girl Scouts and Brownies have planted lovely flowers that are located around the garden. (SOMcL photo)
