Clover Day celebrated Saturday starting at 10

Saturday is a big day in Clover as the annual Clover Day festival unfolds beginning at 10 a.m. with a parade, followed by the best Brunswick stew in town, along with hot dogs, cheeseburgers and hamburgers — all served up at the Clover Fire Department.

Crash causes $8,000 damage to vehicle

HCHS kicks off 21st Century after-school program

The B.L.U.E. Team After-School Program at Halifax County High School officially began Tuesday, Oct. 12. B.L.U.E. stands for "Building Learners Utilizing Enrichments," and this year's motto is "A Vision Without A Plan Is An Illusion," to encourage teens to set academic and personal goals and then create a workable plan to reach them.

MRSA reported at Scottsburg Elementary

School officials reported this week that two children at Scottsburg Elementary School have tested positive for MRSA and “are in school being treated appropriately by their physicians,” according to Deputy Superintendent of Schools Larry Clark.
