On Saturday, May 8, Cluster Springs Elementary School received the American Red Cross Good Neighbor Award from the American Red Cross Greater Richmond Chapter. This award was given to the school for partnering with the Red Cross to provide exceptional service. Cluster Springs Elementary School raised over $2,000 for the Red Cross with their “Homes for Haiti” project.

Trustees look to conduct study

Halifax County School Board trustees will meet Monday to discuss steps towards conducting an efficiency review of the local school division.

Public hearing tonight on South Boston budget

South Boston Town Council will host a public hearing Monday on the Town’s proposed 2010-2011 fiscal year budget, which goes into effect July 1. The budget calls for no tax or fee increases.
