Students pledge to make New Beginning

New Beginnings students from Bluestone and Park View high schools last week took part in an Affirmation Day program at North Bend Park. After getting a pep talk by Superintendent of Schools James Thornton, students affirmed their intention to stay in school and graduate with the Class of 2014. The day was a new beginning in which 9th graders who had experienced difficulties in middle school declared that would succeed. The program is based on building trusting relationships with administration, faculty, and fellow students. The group heard a presentation by the park interpreter, ate lunch prepared by their teachers, and received New Beginnings T-shirts.
