The 14-year-old suspect in the shooting death of Harold Cooper Jr., a Bluestone ninth grader gunned down Dec. 17, has been indicted of first degree murder by a Mecklenburg County Circuit Court grand jury.

Two airlifted after motorbike is struck

Two residents were airlifted to hospitals in Durham, NC and Richmond following the collision between a Saturn sedan and a three-wheel motorcycle Friday. (Mike Williams photo)
Two Mecklenburg County residents were airlifted Friday evening for treatment of injuries sustained when a 2000 Saturn LS hit their three-wheel motorcycle on U.S. 15 approaching the intersection with Route 49.

Reckless driving charges

Kelly D. Glasscock, 27, of South Boston was charged with reckless driving and transported to a local hospital Friday afternoon following a one-car accident on U.S. 58 in Mecklenburg County. The 2003 Pontiac she was driving ran off the road, struck an embankment, and overturned. Virginia State Police and members of the Clarksville Fire Department and Mecklenburg Lifesaving and Rescue Squad responded.

‘93 Mustang totaled in Friday accident outside La Crosse

A one-car accident shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday on U.S. 58 between Brodnax and La Crosse destroyed a black ‘93 Mustang.
