Operation Clean-Up draws a big turnout in the Town of South Hill

South Boston News
An estimated 200 volunteers turned out Saturday at Centennial Park in South Hill to take part in the town’s first-ever Operation Clean-Up, organized by the South Hill Revitalization Committee. Groups of volunteers fanned out in town to pick up litter, each assigned one of 10 zones for community beautification work. The SHRC and Town of South Hill provided bags and vests to help the volunteers work safely cleaning up streets around town. Church groups, organizations, businesses, schools and individuals all took part in the effort, enjoying a free lunch and music at Centennial Park when they were done. (Lisa Clary photo)
