Acree Beverly Conner

Acree Beverly “Buddy” Conner, 70, of Conner Evans Trail, Alton, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at his home. He was born in Del Rio, Texas on Dec. 20, 1943, son of the late Charlie Acree Conner and Frances Brooks Conner and was married to Cynthia “Dianne” Snead Conner. He was a member of Black Walnut Baptist Church, was a charter member of Cluster Springs Volunteer Fire Department and was retired from ABB.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Conner is survived by three daughters, Wanda Washington and husband Kip of Williamsburg, Beverly Jones and husband Tino of Alton, Kimberly Conner of Alton; one son, Michael A. Conner and wife Ashley of Virgilina; one brother, Chuck Conner and wife Telia of Cluster Springs; six grandchildren, Rick Compton and wife Laci, Amanda Compton, Casey Compton and wife Jessica, Daniel Mack, Maci Conner and Marcus Washington and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Randy Holmes officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 23, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home.
