Agnes Reva Hodges

Agnes Reva Hodges Walker, 88, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017. She was born Dec. 16, 1928 in Nathalie, to James Aaron and Myrtle Brown Hodges, and was married to Mark Burnett Walker on Dec. 7, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2013. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and had been employed by Grace Hotel in Clarksville, Burlington Industries and Mecklenburg County Schools Transportation. She was a Sunday
school teacher to many ages for many years and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Paul Carter of Winchester, and Victoria and Charles Yancey of Buffalo Junction, three sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Ruth Walker, Paul and Mary Lou Walker all of Buffalo Junction, Gerald and Nancy Walker of Berne, Ind., a daughter-in-law, Sue Walker of Nelson, and was preceded in death by a son Charlie Mark Walker in 1982. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were sisters Doris Owen, Rothwell Clark and Pansy Lail; brothers Cecil, Durelle and James Hodges as well as siblings from childhood, May and Ray Hodges.  

A funeral was held Monday, Dec. 4, at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Billy Coghill conducted the service.

The family received friends Sunday, Dec. 3 from 7–9 p.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
