Alice Brown Taylor of Moorman’s Lane, Nathalie died Friday, May 13, 2011at The Woodview at the age of 79. Born in Halifax County on June 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Beverly G. Brown and Nonia Pringle Brown and was married to the late Frank Howard Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by a daughter, Karen M. Taylor of Nathalie, a son, Michael E. Taylor of Gainesville, Fla., two sisters, Clarrise Jennings of Nathalie and Gloria Sunkett of Philadelphia, Pa., two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, Patricia Taylor and Violet Childress, her goddaughter, Kristen Matthews of New York City, her godson, Harry Johnson of Nathalie and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by a son, Harry S. Taylor.

A funeral for Mrs. Taylor will be held Thursday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at Sunflower Baptist Church with Rev. Robert M. Tucker Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday, May 18 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at The Crawford House in Halifax. The family will receive friends at the home, 1005 Moorman’s Lane, Nathalie.
