Amanda Michelle Downey, 28, of Clarksville, died Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Granville County, N.C.

Miss Downey was born in Halifax County, Jan. 21, 1992 to Kelvin Hargrove and Kristen Downey. She was a graduate of Bluestone High School, and was employed by Food Lion Distribution Center in Butner, N.C. She loved children, and enjoyed playing video games.

Cherishing her memories are her parents, Kristen Downey (Jason) of Clarksville, and Kelvin Hargrove of Chase City, two brothers, Dion and Daylon Hargrove both of Chase City, maternal grandfather, Arthur Downey (Brenda) of Clarksville, maternal great-grandfather, Robert Lee Carter (Pat) of Manassas, maternal great-grandfather, Willie B. Nelson of Clarksville, aunt, Stephanie Terry (D’Angelo) of South Hill, special friend, Nadira Carey and children, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Miss Downey was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Amanda N. Downey; paternal grandmother, Delois Hargrove Small; great-grandmothers, Charlotte (Carletha) Smith and Ernestine Nelson, and an uncle, Lester Boswell Jr.

Due to the mandates from Gov. Ralph Northam, private graveside services will be conducted.

Public viewing will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m.
