Arlene Frances Saunders

Arlene Frances Saunders, 85, of Halifax, died Monday, July 3, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Wilson B. Saunders and Blanche Gilliland Sanders and was a member of First Baptist Church of Republican Grove.

Ms. Saunders is survived by one sister, Delma S. Toombs; sister-in-law, Charlene Saunders; nieces and nephews, Adaline Hodge and husband Ronnie, Hubert Saunders Jr. and wife Lynn, Wayne Saunders and wife Patricia; great nieces, Rachel Sanders and husband Geoff, Rebecca Saunders, Melanie Saunders, Jessica Saunders; great-great-niece and nephew, Claire and Riley Sanders.

One brother, Hubert B. Saunders Sr. and brother-in-law, Phillip Toombs, preceded her in death.

A funeral will be held Thursday, July 6, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Republican Grove with Rev. Shelton Miles and Rev. LeRoy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
