Barbara Kranwinkle Peer of 1502 Willingham Avenue, South Boston died June 20, 2010 at Halifax Regonal Hospital. Born in Elgin, Ill. on Feb. 23, 1937, she was 73 at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Conrad Kranwinkle and Helen Wahlgren Kranwinkle and was married to Dr. Clyde Franklin Peer. She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was also active with Good Samaritan.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Dr. Michael Conrad Peer and wife Aleacia of Halifax and Thomas Craig Peer of Camden, N.C., a granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Peer of Halifax and a brother, Conrad Douglas Kranwinkle of Pasadena, Calif.

A funeral service for Mrs. Peer will be conducted at Trinity Episcopal Church on Wednesday, June 23 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge cemetery. Visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. and at other times at her home.
