Barry Lee Clark, 61, of South Boston, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at his home. He was born in Halifax County on Dec. 31, 1959, son of the late Robert Whitlow Clark Sr. and the late Beatrice Mahaffey Clark. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Sons of the American Legion Post 8. He also was employed by Aquatic Bath. Barry loved cooking and racing and he was always willing to lend a hand when needed.

Mr. Clark is survived by one son, Zachary Thomas Clark and girlfriend Debbie O’Steen of Deland, Fla.; grandchildren, Piper Downing and Mason Downing, both of Richmond; two sisters, Sybil C. Blanks and husband Doug of South Boston, Cindi C. Owen and husband David of South Boston; eight brothers, Bobby Clark and wife Diane of Social Circle, Ga., Ralph Clark and wife Edith of Trentwoods, N.C., Zane Clark and wife Lulu of South Boston, Stanley Clark and wife Dianne of South Boston, Doc Clark and wife Judith of Halifax, David Clark and wife Billie of South Boston, Aubrey Clark and wife Donna of South Boston, Willie Jones of South Boston; sister-in-law, Rita Clark of South Boston.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Clark.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at American Legion Post 8 and other times at the home of Cecil and David Owen, 1101 Owens Avenue, South Boston.
