Becky Lynn Black, age 60, of Nelson, the beloved wife of Dr. Dave Black, went home to be with the Lord at 6:52 a.m. on Nov. 2, 2013 after a four-year struggle with cancer.
Visitation was held at the Watkins-Cooper-Lyon Funeral Home Saturday, Nov. 2, from 7-9 p.m.
A “Celebration Service” honoring the work of the Lord in Becky’s life was held at Binkley Chapel on the campus of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m., followed by the interment at Bethel Hill Baptist Church north of Roxboro at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to help the Blacks build a ministry training center in Burji, Ethiopia, where Becky grew up.
Checks may be made payable to Bethel Hill Baptist Church, earmarked “Burji,” and sent to Dave Black at 2691 White House Rd., Nelson, VA, 24580.
Online condolences may be expressed to the family at http://www.wclfh.com.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His holy ones (Psalm 116:15).
