Bernice Malone Harris

Bernice Malone Harris, 81, of Red Oak, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Harris was born in Baltimore, Md., Jan. 29, 1936 to the late Isaac Bouldin and Annie Rainey. She attended the schools of Lunenburg County, and was a member of Saint Level Baptist Church. Mrs. Harris retired from Shirlington Hotel after 11 years of service, and was a private caregiver thereafter for five years.

Cherishing her memories are three children, Linwood Harris of Baltimore, Linda Lee Harris of Alexandria, and Robert Lee Harris, Jr. of Arlington, five grandchildren, Charles, Lynette, Linwood, Jr., Spencer and Tyarra; three great-grandchildren, one brother, Michael Malone of Baltimore, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Harris.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. at Saint Level Baptist Church, with Rev. Toney Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will begin on Friday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
