Betty Jo Thornburg, 73, of South Boston, formerly of Warsaw, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010. She was retired from Lee Davis High School and from the Virginia General Assembly. She was a member of Cobham Baptist Church and attended Beth Car Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Barry “B.J.” Thornburg; two sons, Brian Thornburg and family and Kelly Thornburg and family; and a daughter, Angela Clements.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at Cobham Park Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cobham Park Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 306, Warsaw, VA 22572 or to the Beth Car Baptist Church General Fund, 25 Church Street, Halifax, VA 24558.
