Carolyn Royster Brook, 76, daughter of the late Elvin Lee and Alma Wilson Royster of Clarksville, died May 8, 2019 in Fairfax.  

​Ms. Brook grew up in Clarksville and graduated from Chowan College.  In their 37 years, the Brooks lived all over the country, including Rockville, MD, La Canada, Calif., Mt. Kisco, N.Y., McLean, Bellevue, Wash., Los Gatos, Calif., and Carlsbad, Calif. They moved back east to Durham, N.C. in 2006 and to Lorton, in 2015 to be closer to family.  Family was the most important thing to her.  

She is also survived by her brother, Robert L. Royster of Pinehurst, NC and her sister, Esther R. Tyler (Pete) of Arlington. She leaves behind three nephews and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves three stepchildren and nine step grandchildren.  

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry W. Brook. She is survived by two sons, Brian C. Brook (Sasha) of New York, and Mark R. Brook (Qian) of Fairfax and two grandsons, Lucas and Mason, of Fairfax.

​Services will be held Friday, May 17 at 4 p.m. at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 18 at 3 p.m. at the Royster Cemetery in Bullock, N.C.

​Donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Cancer Society in her name.

Local arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
