Carrie Jane Carr, 67, of Spring Avenue, South Boston, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born in Halifax County on Oct. 2, 1952, daughter of the late Jesse Lee Sydnor and Carrie Chambers Sydnor.

Ms. Carr is survived by two daughters, Patsy Carr of South Boston and Yolanda Carr of North Carolina; two granddaughters, Cymone Carr of Norfolk and Cierra Barksdale of the home; one sister, Brenda Sydnor of East Orange, N.J.; one niece, five great-nieces and nephews, three aunts, two uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. at Millstone Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Crews, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be Friday, Feb. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home, 1907 Spring Avenue, South Boston.
