Charles Henry Coleman Sr.

Charles Henry Coleman, Sr., 79, of Neal’s Corner Road, Clover, died Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Sentara Halifax Regional. He was born in Halifax County on July 18, 1939, son of the late Clem Coleman and Ruth Crews Coleman Traynham. He was married to the late Katie Sydnor Coleman and was a member of Browns Memorial Church of God in Christ.

Mr. Coleman is survived by three daughters, Mary Adams (Roger) of Randolph, Virginia Womack of Roxboro, N.C., and Patricia Bouie of South Boston; three sons, Charles Coleman Jr. (Nannie) of Nathalie, Henry Coleman (Diane) of Halifax and Robert Coleman (Alicia) of Clover; 17 grandchildren, including the devoted Danisha Adams Johnson and Courtney Morgan; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmie Coleman; two sisters-in-law, Olivia Sydnor and Nettie Sydnor; one brother-in-law, Charles Jennings and a host of god children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

A funeral will be held Saturday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at New Shiloh Baptist Church with Elder Antwan Lamont Coleman officiating. Burial will following Browns Memorial Church of God in Christ Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Friday, July 12 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at 1127 Neal’s Corner Road, Clover.
