Charles Philip Williams of Clarksville died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017 at the age of 80. He was born in Rockingham County, N.C., on Aug. 21, 1937 to the late Versa W. Williams and the late Louise Bradsher Williams. Charles was a draftsman for the city of Greensboro, N.C. and a veteran of the National Guard.

He loved to farm and to plant and grow his garden.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 50 plus years, Carolyn Norwood Williams; and three sisters, Nancy Bradley, Ruth Lemons, and Linda Anderson.

He was predeceased by his three brothers.

A funeral was held Friday, Aug. 25, at 11:30 p.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Rodney Barwick and David Pate officiating. Burial followed in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Tabernacle U.M.C. Cemetery Fund at Tabernacle UMC c/o Sylvia Anderson, PO Box 100 Townsville, NC 27507.
