Charlie Junior “Uncle Joe” Brandon, 82, of 1096 Jeffress Trail, Alton, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 at Berry Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Halifax County on Oct. 31, 1935, son of the late Charlie E. Brandon Sr. and Sarah Jane Brandon. He was a member of Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Brandon is survived by one brother, Edward Brandon (Marie) of Alton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and their wives, Solomon Brandon (Lottie), Samuel Brandon (Mary), John E. Brandon (Willie Dorothy) and Clifton Brandon (Fannie) and three sisters, Rosetta Jeffress (MacDoward), Gladys Pointer (Redmond) and Eva Jeffress (John).

A funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at Greater Brandon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Darran Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be Friday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 1096 Jeffress Trail, Alton.
