Charlie Lee Ballou (Cheese), 54, of Gaithersburg, Md., died Monday, April 15, 2019, at 7:13 p.m. in the Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md. Charlie was born May 5, 1964 in Halifax County to the late Charlie Junior Ballou and Mary Louise Sydnor Ballou and was of the Baptist faith.

Charlie received his education in the Halifax County School System and was a retired building services worker in the Montgomery County School System. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and also enjoyed horse racing, playing cards, backgammon and fishing, as well as spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by six daughters, Melissa Ballou of Martinsburg, W.Va., Tamika and Kiana Chamberlain, both of Germantown, Md., Melynda Ballou-Austin of Hagerstown, Md., Sierra Chamberlain of Baltimore, Md., and Donzaya Chamberlain of Germantown, Md., one sister, Michelle McLaurin, (Carroll) of Hyattsville, Md., three brothers, William Ballou of Smithfield, John Ballou of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Matthew Ballou of Kearneysville, W.Va., eight grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Chandler.
