Charlie Thomas Brooks

Charlie Thomas Brooks, age 76, of Red Oak, died Friday, June 23, 2017. He was born on April 30, 1941 in Charlotte County, to the late Thomas and Elsie Brooks. Charlie was a retired tobacco farmer. 

He is survived by his wife, Frances Covington, three daughters, Peggy Williams and her husband, Kenneth of Saxe, Linda Smith of Boydton, and Patty Mills and Tony Lacks of Chase City, one step-son, Ronald Covington of Chase City, three grandchildren, Paul Jones and his wife, Emma, Amy Hite and her husband, Jonathan and JoAnn Smith and fiance', Matt Willis, one step-granddaughter, Carly Covington and three great-grandchildren, Jillian Jones, Luke Jones and Riley Hite. 

He was predeceased by his parents, step-son, Dusty Covington, grandson, Brian Mills, step-grandson, Spud Covington and two sisters, Thelma Tuck and Virginia Morgan. 

The family received visitors Monday, June 26, from 6-8 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home.
