Charlotte Conley Joseph of South Boston died Monday, June 22, 2020. She was born in Hazard, Ky., on April 18, 1936 and was 84 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Paul Conley, the late Ruth Combs Flannery and late step-father Parcel Flannery. She was married to the late Donald Patrick Joseph.

She was of the Presbyterian Faith. Charlotte was most proud of her service in the United States Air Force where she met her husband, Donald, of over 60 years. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing family meals, especially during the holidays. Following her retirement, Charlotte’s greatest joy was to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Joseph is survived by her children, Joni J. Owens and husband Frosty of Halifax, Jeff Joseph of Columbus, S.C., and Donald Michael Joseph of Long Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren, Caitlin O. Thompson (Charles) of Greensboro, N.C., Robert Allen “Bobby” Owens of Raleigh, N.C., Michael Joseph Owens (Melissa) of Raleigh, N.C. and Jeffrey Michael Joseph; two great grandchildren, Cole Edward Thompson and Elijah Patrick Thompson; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Kincaid and Kathy Tackett.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
