Charlotte Eloise Yeatts Martin

Charlotte Eloise Yeatts Martin of 1816 Chamberlain Street, South Boston, Virginia died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at her home. She was born Feb. 25. 1933 in Halifax County and was 77 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Henry Orville Yeatts and Katie Lawson Yeatts and was married to the late Letcher Hunter Martin Sr. Ms. Martin was a member of Second Baptist Church, South Boston.

Ms. Martin is survived by two sons, Ronald T. Martin and wife Linda of South Boston and Letcher H. Martin Jr. and wife Jeri of Walkertown, N.C. and three daughters, Charlotte Elliott and husband Odell of Buffalo Junction, Jenny Henry of South Boston and Tammy Gravitt and husband Jimmy, also of South Boston. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Roy Yeatts and wife Orene of Halifax and one sister, Marie Moore and husband Percy of Smith Mountain.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Yeatts and a sister, Doris Satterfield.

A graveside service for Ms. Martin will be held Friday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m. at Halifax Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Randy Holmes officiating.

The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. and at other times at her home, 1816 Chamberlain Street, South Boston, VA
