Charlotte Jean Lacks Smith, age 70, of Red Oak, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2018. She was born Feb. 26, 1947 in Clover, to the late Simmie Edward Lacks and the late Edith Toombs Lacks. She was a hair stylist and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Carter and husband, Jonathan of Newport News, two sisters, Joyce Cole and husband, Keenan of South Boston, and Linda Howard and husband, Ronnie of Saxe, one brother, Douglas Lacks and wife, Debra of Red Oak; three nephews, Christopher Lacks, David Lacks, and Kevin Cole; and one great-nephew, Karson Cole.

A funeral was held Friday, Feb. 23, at Antioch Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
