Charlotte Louise Tune Sydnor of Gatha’s Trail, Halifax died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 90.

Mrs. Sydnor was born in Halifax County on February 7, 1928 to the late James Tune and Edna Hughes Tune. She was married to the late James Harold Sydnor and was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sydnor is survived by three daughters, Emma S. Foster and Stephanie Sydnor, both of Halifax and Sandy S. Frazier (Horris) of Columbia, S.C.; five sons, Harold Sydnor, James Lawrence Sydnor, Christopher Sydnor and Tony Sydnor, all of Halifax and Jerome Sydnor (Carla) of Oxon Hill, Md., 16 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; a brother, Frank R. Tune of Scottsburg; a sister-in-law, Learlean Hemphill of Temple Hills, Md., and a host or nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Sydnor and Welford “Connie” Sydnor.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, May 15 at 11 a.m. at Banister Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. William F. Carr eulogist. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be held Monday, May 14 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the home of Ms. Stephanie Sydnor, 2011 Murphy Grove Road.

Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
