Charlotte Osborne Rice of 2513 N. Main Street, South Boston, died Thursday, April 14, 2011. She was born in Halifax County Virginia on June 24, 1926 to Leander F. Osborne and Mamie Alice Fitts Osborne.

Her husband, Charlie T. Rice and son, David T. Rice, preceded her in death.

Her twin sister Hilda O. Scudder and brother-in-law Frank Scudder of Washington, D. C, survive her. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who dearly loved this gentle lady.

She was a longtime member of McCanless Memorial United Methodist Church and Woodman of the World.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday April 20, at 2 p.m. at McCanless Memorial UMC with the Rev. Ann Norton and the Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home.
