Charlye B. Overby

Charlye B. Overby, 60 of Clarksville, entered eternal rest Thursday, July 4, 2013 at her residence.

Ms. Overby was born in Buffalo Junction, Aug. 24, 1952 to James E. and Joan Winfield Overby. She received her education in the Peekskill City Schools in Peekskill, N.Y. She attended Greater Hartford Community College, Hartford, Conn., and Central Connecticut State University; New Britain, Conn. Charyle was employed by Diageo North America, Norwalk, Conn., as a financial analyst retiring in 2007. While in Peekskill, N.Y. she was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church; upon returning to Clarksville she joined Saint Mark Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction.

Charlye was preceded in death by her father, James E. Overby Sr.

Cherishing her memories are three sons, Jarell (Giziebeth), Kendric Chavies and Timothy (Davyda) Overby, four grandchildren, Elijah, Jarell Jr., Isaiah Chavies and Timothy Overby II; her mother, Joan W. Overby; seven sisters, Betty Overby, Barbara Winston, Jerry Carter (James), Enolia Gibbs (Larry), Doris Overby, Louise Wilson (Ronald) and Audrey Overby; four brothers, James Overby Jr. (Carol) Edward Overby (Wendy) Thomas and Darryl Overby; one aunt, Doris Hester and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A funeral will be held Thursday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Derrick Horton delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
