Christopher Allen Rhodes

Christopher Allen Rhodes of Acorn Drive, Nathalie died Nov. 5, 2012 at the age of 26.

Mr. Rhodes was born in Norfolk on Dec. 5, 1985 and was the son of Paula Rhodes Penick and was married to Leslie Ann Wilborn Rhodes. He was a former artillery specialist with the Army National Guard, South Boston unit.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Nathaniel Rhodes of Nathalie, a daughter, MJessica Wilborn of Nathalie, a stepdaughter, Victoria Burch of South Boston, two stepsons, Richard Culley and Jeremy Culley, both of Nathalie, his mother of Scottsburg, two sisters, Samantha Cole and husband, Derek of South Boston, and Lisa Penick of Yanceyville, N.C., four brothers, Spencer Penick of Scottsburg, Chris Penick of South Boston, Shamel Coppage of Atlanta, Ga., and Aubrey Jordan of Clover, his grandmother, Frances Rhodes, his great grandfather, Herbert Johnson, his mother and father-in-law, Carrie and Robert Wilborn, sister-in-law, Sandra Wilborn, brothers-in-law, Robert and Kenneth Wilborn and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the devoted Mary Carrington and Phil Carrington. He was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey “Walter” Penick.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. at Clover Cemetery with Rev. Ronald Claiborne officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at The Crawford House chapel in Halifax. Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, 2000 N. Main Street, South Boston.
