Mr. Clarence Lee Powell, 61, of German Creek Road, South Boston died June 7, 2010 at VCU-MCV Medical Center, Richmond. He was born in Halifax County on July 7, 1948, son of the late Lindsey Powell and Martha Crawley Wade. He was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Rosa Chappell and Dorothy Ford, both of South Boston; five brothers, Robert E. Wade of Richmond, James H. Wade, Willis O. Wade, Joseph D. Wade and Carlton E. Wade, all of South Boston; three sisters-in-law, Gladys Wade, Marlene Wade and Suzette Wade and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight L. Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1074 German Creek Road, South Boston.
