Obituaries Clifton Bennie Newby Sr.SoVaNow.com / March 14, 2011
He is survived by his wife, Alice Long Newby of the home, two sons, Clifton Bennie “Butch” Newby, Jr. and wife Effie of Gasburg and Allen Wayne Newby of Alton and a daughter, Tammy N. Dunn and husband Ollie of Alton, three grandsons, Trey and Tyler Dunn and Tommy Taylor and wife, Danielle and three granddaughters, Alayna Newby, Allison Taylor and Stacia Cook and husband Ricky, and three great grandchildren, Mason and Kamden Cook and McKenzie Hauser. Also surviving is a sister, Lissie Mae Lewis of Vernon Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Lee Newby Sr. and Ida Dalton Newby, two sisters, Thelma Lewis and Pauline Jefferson and a brother, Buck Newby. A funeral for Mr. Newby will be conducted on Tuesday, March 15 at Arbor Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Monday, March 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home. On-line condolences may be made at http://www.brooksfhinc.com. |
