Murder suspect in Halifax County turns himself in

Curtis A. Garner, age 90, of Skipwith, passed away on June 1, 2010.

He is survived by three sons, Wayne Garner and wife Margaret of Skipwith, VA, Glen Garner and wife Carolyn of Chase City, and Wesley Garner Sr. and Juanita of Creedmoor, N.C., seven grandchildren, David Garner of Cary, NC, Shawn Garner of Skipwith, Wendy Mull of Chase City, VA, Cheryl Joynt of Richmond, Paul Garner of Raleigh, N.C., Donna Rogers of Levington, N.C., and Wesley Garner Jr. of Oxford, N.C., and eleven great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Frances Garner and grandson Michael Garner.

He was a retired farmer and a WWII veteran. Graveside services were held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church.

Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
