Cynthia Ann Sherman, age 72, of Chase City, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2021. She was born Aug. 25, 1949 in Leaksville, N.C., to the late Neal Allen Sherman and the late Violet Ellen Stuart Sherman. She was a dedicated employee at the W S Hundley Annex Center, South Hill, for 30 years. She loved gardening and taking in and caring for cats. 

Cynthia is survived by her son, Timothy Allen Sherman (Natasha Hayes Sherman); granddaughter, Tamia Alani Sherman; brother, William Sherman; sister-in-law, Sharon Sherman; nieces and nephews, Erik Sherman, Kevan Sherman, Robert Sherman and Heather Shymansky; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Sherman and nephew, Neal Sherman. 

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery, Chase City.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 5 at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home in Chase City.
