Daniel W. “Buck” Perkins Jr. of Halifax died Saturday, July 11, 2020 at his home. He was born May 27, 1974 in Halifax County and was 46 years old. He was the son of the late Daniel Webster “Dude” Perkins, Sr. and Janet Womack Perkins. He attended the Union United Methodist Church. Buck was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his mother, Janet W. Perkins of Halifax; one sister, Michele P. McCubbins and husband Dean of South Boston; his son, Ethan Daniel Perkins of Halifax; his girlfriend, Doreen Carson of Halifax; his niece, Ashley Waller and husband Justin of Roanoke; his nephew, Tyler Sweeney and wife Ariel of Vernon Hill; great-niece, Torryn Waller of Roanoke; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel W. Dude” Perkins, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Isaac and Ethel Perkins; and his maternal grandparents, Hurley and Regina Womack.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, July 15, at 11 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thad Decker officiating. Burial will follow in the Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1072 Union Church Road, Halifax.
