Dannie Ray Crews, 76, of South Boston, died Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was born in Halifax County on May 15, 1944, son of the late Joe Allison Crews and the late Inez Tuck Crews. He was married to Beverly Holt Crews and was a member of Union United Methodist Church. Mr. Crews served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

Mr. Crews is survived by his wife, Beverly Holt Crews of South Boston; his children, Tara Crews Lacks (Victor) of Clover, Paula Crews Orellana of South Boston, David Ray Crews of Chatham and Anthony Blair Crews of South Boston; three grandchildren, Miguel Orellana, Oliva Grace Lacks, Sydney Carroll Crews; sisters, Joyce Mae Saunders (Louis) of Nathalie and Cathy Susan Peade of Nathalie.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Edward Crews.

A funeral will be held Thursday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church with Rev. Thad Decker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church and other times at his home.
