David Michael Riley, 29, of 2165 Burton Road, Scottsburg died Saturday, June 12, 2010. He was born April 26, 1981 in Halifax County, a son of Bruce Alvin Riley and Patricia Burton Riley and was married to the late Wendy Diane Weddle Riley. He was a member of Winns Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Abigail Renae Riley of Scottsburg; one sister, Jennifer Riley Dixon and husband Taft of Roxboro, N.C.; one nephew, Gabriel Clay; his maternal grandparents, Clinton and Miriam Burton of Scottsburg; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Spatz of California.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at Winns Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Kopco officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Abigail Riley Fund, c/o Carrie Pate, Benchmark Bank, P.O. Box 1160, Halifax, VA 24558.
