Dora Lee Hicks Oliver

Dora Lee Hicks Oliver was born in Mecklenburg County, on Feb. 20, 1954 to the late Frank E. and Willie B. Hicks. She was married to the late Tyree James Oliver Sr. After a long struggle with ALS, she died April 15, 2017 at Sentara Meadowview Terrace.

Dora was a devoted wife, mother and friend who became a faithful Jehovah Witness in 1994 until her death. Dora loved fishing and gardening.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Laura and Jennifer Oliver of the home, one son, Tyree Oliver Jr., two sisters, Kathy Oliver (Thomas) and Mary Alice Osborne (Billy, Sr.), two brothers, Clarence Hicks (Christina) and William Hicks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hicks and a brother, Frank Hicks Jr.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Clarksville.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Carter’s Funeral Home.
