Dorothy Lee Watson Davis

Dorothy Lee Watson Davis, 85 of Chase City, entered eternal rest Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Davis was born in Plantersville Community of Lunenburg County. Sept. 12, 1927 one of fifteen children born to Matthew and Fannie Roberts Watson. She was a 1946 graduate of Lunenburg County High School. Mrs. Davis was a member of Mount Mitchell Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, usher, secretary for the Missionary Society, sang on the choir and was sexton until her health began to decline.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Saunders Davis, seven brothers and seven sisters. Cherishing her memories are one son, Reginald Davis (Gracie) of Chase City; one granddaughter, Robyn Davis of Arlington, a host of nephews, nieces, devoted friends of the Drakes Branch Elderly Apartments as well as the patients and staff of Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation and a vast number of other loving friends.
A funeral was held Tuesday, July 9, at Mount Mitchell Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, with Rev. Fran S. Jackson, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
The family received friends Monday evening at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
