Dorothy Mae Persinger Rowsey

Dorothy Mae Persinger Rowsey of Nathalie died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at her home.

She was born Sept. 22, 1938 in Alleghany County, and was the daughter of the late Stanley Edward Persinger and Nancy Elizabeth Persinger and was married to Leslie Allen Rowsey Sr.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved God, her family and children of all ages. She was a living reflection of God’s love and a shining example of forgiveness. We will miss her smile, her song and her laughter.

Mrs. Rowsey is survived by her husband of the home, three daughters, Debra Kay Anderson of Nathalie, Delores R. Davis and husband J. T. of Nathalie, and Karen R. Knicely and husband Dale of Fredericksburg, two sons, L. Allen Rowsey, Jr. and wife Lori of Dumfries and Christopher S. Rowsey and wife Tina of Harrisonburg, eighteen grandchildren, Rachel Rowsey, A. J. Davis, Brandon Rowsey, Austin Rowsey, Anna Davis, Josh Kussmann, Ariana Anderson, Briana Anderson, Dylan Rowsey, Maggie Knicely, Erik Knicely, Malena Russett, Ryan Knicely, Hannah Knicely, Justin Knicely, Sarah Knicely, Lilah Rowsey and Jeremiah Knicely, four great grandchildren, Noah Rowsey, Ella Roadfeldt, Karsyn Kussmann and Hazel King and two sisters, Martha Ella Carter of Covington and Nancy Carol Hubbard and husband Ben of Covington and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mrs. Rowsey will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. at the Rowsey Family cemetery with the Rev. Ted Fortenberry officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home.
